Hello Ms. Morton, and thank you for posting about this opportunity on Twitter.

I would be thrilled to bring my decade of extensive media production experience to build on the success and contribute to the continued growth of NBC News as MSNBC's new Coordinating Producer.

As a broadcast, digital media, and live events producer, I have created, planned, and executed major talent-driven projects for multiple platforms; details are available here on my website.

Producing live topical comedy and talk shows (series and specials) — including the CBC's highest-rated entertainment TV special for the past seven consecutive seasons — I curate, negotiate, and coordinate a large roster of talent and guests from the worlds of entertainment, sports, news, and politics. I also spearhead all online and social media components, book crew and locations, and promote and market the show to traditional and digital media outlets.

I also write and produce original branded content to promote audience engagement for multi-platform programming and corporate initiatives, including the Olympics and the Canadian Screen Awards (hosted by Martin Short). Recently, on a lighter note, I produced a 52-episode series with the Just For Laughs Festival for Kevin Hart’s new forthcoming digital VOD platform, the Laugh Out Loud Network.

I work quickly, professionally, and economically, with strong attention to detail and quality. My successful track record translates to real, measurable results, and I would be proud (as a peacock) to join the remarkable legacy of NBC News, which, in turn, would benefit from my commitment, dedication, and passion for celebrating talent, engaging the public, and creating and sharing fun and compelling content for large audiences.

I am extremely interested in this opportunity and look forward to discussing it with you.

Thanks very much,

Mark Selby
